Clue Hunting – Decoding the Egg Names in MLB The Show 25

One of my favorite things about the Egg Hunt in MLB The Show 25 is how the egg names amlb 25 stubsnd tasks are full of puns, clues, and old-school baseball nods. For those trying to solve the hunt without spoilers, paying attention to the naming conventions and subtle hints can actually guide you in the right direction.

Let’s break a few of them down without outright spoiling the objective:

“Three Bags Full” – Obvious reference to a triple. A “three-bagger” is a classic nickname for a triple in baseball lingo.

“Shell Game” – Likely connected to the use of a certain player or in-game action that’s more obscure. Might involve tricking the opponent or something deceptive.

“Yolked Up” – Could be about power hitting or doubles. Sounds like it’s related to muscles or extra bases.

“Sunny Side Up” – This might relate to playing a full sunny 9-inning game. Teams like the Orioles, Blue Jays, or Cardinals often pop up in themed content.

“Boggs Bunny” – Definitely a clue about using Wade Boggs. Add “on base” or “walk” to the formula and you’re close.

The devs clearly wanted this to be more than a checklist. There’s creativity in the mission titles and lots of ways to interpret each clue. If you’re stuck, think about baseball terminology. Almost every egg title has a double meaning. Try experimenting across different modes—Ranked, Events, BR, etc.—until you see something unlock.

Keep your ears open too. Commentary sometimes drops hints when you’re in the middle of an egg-triggering action. Had one line about “Easter miracle” right as I completed the steal in Ranked that gave me an egg.

Anyone else pick up on other double-meanings or hints that pointed them in the right direction? I feel like this egg hunt is meant to be cracked more than just grinded.
